The Seoul Metropolitan Government (SMG) launched the teaser page of the Seoul Biennale of Architecture and Urbanism 2021 (http://seoulbiennale.org) on Fri, Apr. 16.
The official symbol of the Seoul Biennale of Architecture and Urbanism is applied to the teaser page, which will provide information related to the biennale before the full version of the website is launched in July.
The symbol of the third Seoul Biennale is an image of five lines of different colors that crisscross, expressing the expansion of building resilient cities to depict the theme of the event, “Crossroads.”
Additionally, the official poster expresses the organic nature and autonomous resilience of cities through the visualization of cities as various intersecting and scattering elements.
Celebrating its third anniversary, this year’s Seoul Biennale will display colorful exhibition content in various areas in downtown Seoul over the course of 46 days from Thu, Sep. 16 to Sun, Oct. 31.
An exhibition that shows the new convergence of resilient cities’ urban architecture and infrastructure will take place at Dongdaemun Design Plaza (DDP), and pending issues from 30 countries to make a resilient city that can overcome the changes to citizens’ lives affected by COVID-19 will be introduced at the Seoul Hall of Urbanism and Architecture. At Sewoon Plaza, new perspectives and experiences on cities will be provided through works that are suggested based on the collaboration between five literary writers and five architects.
