  • Try Everything 2021, An Online Meetup for 500 Startups and 200 Experts

  • Economy & Investment News SMG 1613
Around 200 prominent figures in the startup ecosystem, such as startup experts and investors, from 15 countries, including the US, UK and Canada,. will gather up online and offline.

The Seoul Metropolitan Government (SMG) will host the global startup festival Try Everything from Wed, Sep. 15 to Fri, Sep. 17 for startup players, including prospective startups, investors and accelerators, to come together under the slogan “Jump Up! Scale Up!”

Try Everything initially started in 2019 as the global startup festival Start-Up Seoul: Tech-Rise by the SMG for the purpose of startup ecosystem activation. Last year, despite the COVID-19 pandemic, a total of 40 startup sessions were held with around 370 startups from across the country participating under strict disease control and safety protocols.

For this year’s event, the scale has been expanded. With approximately 500 startups participating, a total of 91 startup programs focusing on scale-up and global market entry will be held. The 47 sessions to be held over the course of three days at the main venue in The Shilla Seoul will be audience-free events (online livestream). These sessions will serve to promote the activation of the startup ecosystem, including its players such as global large enterprises, investors, unicorns and media.

Meanwhile, a full-time meetup process between startup ecosystem players, such as large enterprises and investors from around the world, and startups is in operation to help startups experiencing difficulties in attracting investment for business expansion due to the impact of COVID-19 and investors wishing to find new investment targets. This system, which has been implemented since the beginning of this year, is serving as a connecting link between startups and investors. As of September, around 2,000 investment agreements have been concluded through this system.

Detailed information and schedule of Try Everything 2021 can be found on the official website (http://tryeverything.or.kr). All programs will be livestreamed via YouTube during the event period. There will also be a live photo sweepstakes event for participants.
