The Hyundai Seoul is trending among young consumers as a creative space filled with global content—from flagship luxury to Gen Y/Z-targeted stores and Korea’s largest food court—in less than a month of opening. As Korea’s first eco-friendly future-concept department store, it has relaxation areas and wide paths with natural lawns, dozens of trees, and various flowers. It is attracting a great number of visitors as a place for rest in Seoul’s urban center with a stylish interior different from that of other department stores.
The Hyundai Seoul was designed by the globally renowned architect Richard Rogers. It is an ultra-modern architecture that grabs the attention of passersby and visitors alike, based on a new interpretation of traditional Korean architectural motifs, such as purple columns and dancheong (multicolored paintwork).
