The Songpa Book Museum is the first public book museum which serves as a space for sharing and promoting a healthy reading culture as well as various experiences that explore the past and present status of books. The museum was designed with the concept of visitors entering through the layers of a bookshelf to present the public with the feeling of walking around inside of a book, and the building was awarded the Excellence Award at this year’s Seoul Architecture Award ceremony. The museum also features the Open Studio, which offers a tour of the museum’s depository, along with the Permanent and Special Exhibition Halls for various exhibitions. The Songpa Book Museum also features various cultural experience spaces, such as the Media Library and Book Studio, where visitors can make their own books, as well as the Eoullim Hall, a multi-purpose area for events and lectures.
