Sewoon Shopping Center is an electronic products shopping center located between Jongno 3-ga and Toegyero 3-ga, a four-story building with 438,585m2 in floor space. It was the first multipurpose building to be completed in Korea, and has enjoyed good business as a comprehensive electronic products shopping center. However, it has been in subsequent decline due to the development of Gangnam area and the building of Yongsan Electronics Shopping Center, among other reasons. In response, the ‘Sewoon Again Project’ was set in motion in 2015 and Sewoon Shopping Center reopened on September 18, 2017, turning the entire area into a new central axis for pedestrians, running 1km to the north and south of Jongno and Toegyero. With the rebirth of the Sewoon Shopping Center, the Seungyo Bridge (total length of 58m, three floors high) which was torn down during restoration of the Cheonggyecheon Stream, reopened to become the bridge that connects Jongno, Sewoon Shopping Center, and Daerim Shopping Center.
