Seoul Lantern Festival 2017

The Seoul Lantern Festival marks its ninth anniversary this year. Started out in 2009 as the Seoul Light Festival, the festival changed to its current name in 2014. Held over 17 days from the first Friday until the third Sunday of November, the event is one of the leading festivals of Seoul. Visited by over 3 million people, the Seoul Lantern Festival will present narratives using light on the 1.2 kilometers-long Cheonggyecheon Stream placed between Cheonggye Plaza and Supyogyo Bridge. This year, hoping for the successful hosting of the 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Olympics, some of the exhibitions will be under the theme of Pyeongchang Winter Olympics.
