2015 Hangang Summer Festival

The largest riverside culture festival in the country, enjoyed by all ten million citizens of Seoul!

We invite you to participate in any or all of the 70 programs held during the Hangang River summer festival, “Hangang Mongttang.” For 38 days between July 17 and August 23, programs organized by the Hangang Project Headquarters of the Seoul Metropolitan Government in cooperation with various civic organizations will transform the Han River into a joy-filled playground. The programs and participating organizations span a wide variety of sectors, including: camping, water leisure sports, concerts, film screenings, street festivals, cycling, paper boat racing, fire art, and traditional art performances.

The 2015 Hangang Mongttang festival is being held under the theme “The Hangang and a Midsummer Night’s Dream.” And in order to make it an event for all citizens to enjoy, focus has been placed on the following five sub-themes: Families, Lovers, and Friends: Staying cool at the Hangang (water leisure sports); Touching moments at the Hangang (performances); Together at the Hangang (first-hand experience of nature and the Hangang ecosystem); Hangang Challenges (competitions and games), and Hangang in Comfort (camping and resting).

We strongly urge you to take part in all five programs, which have been designed to bring happiness to all participants. Please come and join us in this grand festival held by the City of Seoul!
