SEOUL, SOUTH KOREA, May 27, 2021 – Following the changing trend of the job market, the Seoul Metropolitan Government (SMG) unveils contactless job finding support programs with AIpowered interviews and qualifications tests. For 10,000 young job seekers living in the capital, the SMG offers contactless job interview services. Based on the result, it provides comprehensive support encompassing interview consulting and career counseling.

Recently, more and more Korean companies are introducing various employment methods using AI in their cover letter analysis, interviews, and qualifications tests. Along with this, online job interviews are becoming a trend as companies are trying to minimize physical contact, notably due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

After taking the AI-powered tests, job hunters will get an analyzed report to check their aptitude for the job in a more objective way. The SMG also provides a comprehensive support program, such as career counseling and mentorship with professionals to help the youth get prepared for non-contact hiring.

Any young Seoulite looking for job opportunities can join Seoul’s website for AI interviews and try out the program online. For those who are applying for non-contact interviews, the SMG prepared a special center where the youth can experience AI interviews with a laptop, microphone, and proper lighting system. In this “AI Interview Center,” Seoul’s young job applicants can take advantage of interview consulting and job counseling.

Besides its contactless hiring support programs, the SMG is currently running more than 60 job cafes to help young job seekers. Additionally, the city provides various on-demand services for job-seeking, such as 1:1 career advice, mentorship programs with more experienced workers, and meeting room rental services.

Shin Dae-hyun, Director of the Employment Policy Division of the SMG, said, “With the advances in AI technologies and the prolonged pandemic, a lot of companies are adopting non-contact hiring systems. Following such a trend, the city government promises to help more youth find jobs with our AI-based job interviews and qualifications test programs.
