    Seoul City Hall will be hosting the “11th Job Fair for Married Immigrants” on the basement floor of Seoul Citizens Hall at 1 p.m. on April 5, 2019.

    Seoul’s Job Fair for Married Immigrants is a job fair specialized for immigrants who came to Korea for marriage. Businesses hoping to hire married immigrants as interpreters and translators, foreign language instructors, CS consultants, or multicultural instructors will be present at the job fair. These businesses will have the choice between holding on-site, one-on-one interviews, or providing job information for married immigrants who will then submit their resumes to recruiting companies, and later, be interviewed. Chinese, Vietnamese, Mongolian, and Japanese marriage immigrant interpreters will be available on site for married immigrants who speak do not speak Korean fluently and may face difficulties during interviews.

    At the job fair, nine general businesses and four employment centers operated by married immigrants will conduct on-site, one-on-one interviews, and the employment information of 35 other companies will also be offered. In addition to the Employment Centers, the Job Support Center, Consulting Center, Event Center, and Operations Center will also be available to offer attendees assistance.

    As a service that proved to be highly popular last year, the Job Mentoring and Counseling Booth of the Job Support Center will work with ten employed, married immigrants who have expertise in interpretation, translation, and instruction, to share employment strategies and know-hows of each field. The Job Mentoring and Counseling Booth will utilize mentoring documents personally written by married immigrants who are active in the fields of ▴legal, medical interpretation and translation, ▴business interpretation and translation, ▴foreign language instruction, ▴multicultural instruction, and ▴foreign language translation and publishing to share tips with job seekers, such as job introduction, items to prepare for employment, etc.

    The Consulting Center will offer labor law counseling, personal color analysis consulting, resume writing assistance, interview skills, jobmap vocational card test consulting, etc. to offer a variety of job support services. Married immigrants who have difficulty with on-site interviews and personal introductions can receive one-on-one speech coaching from professionals and practice interviews at the interview consulting booth. Personal color analysis consulting will also be held to help participants to discover colors that suit them personally, using the diagnosed color of fabric to hide individual flaws and highlight unique strengths.

    The Event Center will provide various experiences that include a job motto, such as creating a personal perfume, making luxurious stamps, and taking and printing passport photos, as means of motivating and inspiring married immigrants to find employment.
