  • Seoul Supports Installation Costs for Rain Utility Facilities to Utilize Rainwater

  • Environment & Energy news SMG 3562

To promote the utilization of rainwater as a precious water resource, Seoul will support up to 90 percent (against the standard installation fee) of the installation costs of rain banks (rain utility facilities).
    ○ Support ceiling amounts to KRW 2 million for a small rain bank and KRW 20 million for a rain bank in an apartment or school. Applicants are only required to pay 10 percent of the cost of installation.

The rain bank is a storage tank that enables the utilization of rainwater collected from roofs or other locations. Such collected rainwater leads to a tap-water-saving effect as it can be used in various ways, including for watering gardens and cleaning yards.

Citizens wanting to install a rain bank should fill out the application form and submit it to the autonomous district office (in charge of small rain utility facilities) or the Seoul Metropolitan Government (in charge of rain utilities for schools and apartments) starting on February 3 (Mon.). If selected as a beneficiary, the cost of installation will be supported. For more information, please contact the Water Circulation Policy Division of the Seoul Metropolitan Government at ☎+82-2133-3859 or the local autonomous district.
