The Seoul Metropolitan Government (SMG) held Seoul Smart Mobility Expo 2021 from Thu, Jun. 10 to Sat, Jun. 12 at Oil Tank Culture Park in Mapo-gu. This expo explored the future of transportation against the backdrop of the advent of Industry 4.0 as well as the directions to create a blueprint for the future of mobility. It introduced the SMG’s vision of the future of transportation under the theme of “smarter cities created through innovations in mobility.”
Various discussions and experience events were held at the expo with participation of more than 40 domestic and international companies that possess world-class technology in the field of mobility, including Hyundai Motor Company, Hanwha Systems, LG Electronics, and GS Caltex. In addition, the expo saw great success thanks to the participation of key figures from the government, industry, academia, and the public interested in mobility.
The SMG signed an MOU with Hyundai Motor Company on Thu, Jun. 10 at Oil Tank Culture Park for the successful realization of urban air mobility (UAM) and cooperation to build an ecosystem. Thematic sessions were held for two days on Thu, Jun. 10 and Fri, Jun. 11 where the SMG shared its vision of mobility as well as technology and projects of domestic companies, and mobility industry trends in the era of rapidly changing mobility.
Moreover, various exhibitions and demonstration events such as drone aircraft boarding experience, logistics delivery robot, and autonomous driving VR experience were provided representing the three main themes: UAM, smart logistics, and autonomous driving. Various events were also organized for citizens to experience the future of mobility, including an AI robot show, a student mobility design exhibition, a wearable robot experience, as well as an autonomous driving shuttle ride around the event site.
This event strictly follows the guidelines of the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency (KDCA) to prevent the spread of COVID-19. The safety of the event is ensured through measures such as temperature check, hand disinfection, sanitary gloves, air showers, and capacity control with admission bands.
