    Seoul Releases SeoulBrand I·SEOUL·U Guide Ver. 3.0

    The Seoul Metropolitan Government has published SeoulBrand I·SEOUL·U Guide Ver. 3.0 for the continuing growth of  I·SEOUL·U as its city brand. SeoulBrand I·SEOUL·U Guide Ver. 3.0 will be used as a guideline for the commercialization of the Seoul city brand, where young creators as well as start-ups, SMEs, and design/accessory companies will produce and sell their products in a brand collaboration with  I·SEOUL·U by using its new design patterns and more.

    SeoulBrand I·SEOUL·U Guide Ver. 1.0, published on the launching of the Seoul brand  I·SEOUL·U in 2015, and the subsequent SeoulBrand I·SEOUL·U Guide Ver. 2.0 have served as Seoul’s official guidebooks containing explanations on the basic concept of  I·SEOUL·U, helping citizens’ understanding of the Seoul brand as an open source so that many citizens can easily use  I·SEOUL·U in their daily lives. This year, SeoulBrand I·SEOUL·U Guide Ver. 3.0 provides sophisticated design patterns as well as refined and diverse design samples to promote the utilization of the Seoul brand, allowing for practical applications and use that can be directly applied to products.

    SeoulBrand I·SEOUL·U Guide Ver. 3.0 comprises a “basic system” and an “application system.” The “basic system” informs the principles behind  I·SEOUL·U, such as its concept, values, meaning, images and color applications, and the “application system” provides design samples that show how  I·SEOUL·U can be applied to actual products.

    Additionally, in celebration of the 5th anniversary of  I·SEOUL·U this year, Seoul will be pursuing the I‧SEOUL‧U Collaboration with the private sector (“ I·SEOUL·U Partners” and “Commercialization of Symbols of Seoul”) as a means of expanding the marketing of the Seoul brand and in order to help the private sector generate more added value economically.

     I·SEOUL·U is not only a city brand of Seoul, but also its citizens–free to use by any individual or company for their business by just abiding to its minimal guideline regulations. It is expected that a wide range of products will be in the market as a result of  I·SEOUL·U partner companies and companies participating in the commercialization of symbols of Seoul using design sources in SeoulBrand I·SEOUL·U Guide Ver. 3.0.
