One of the major issues affecting the lives of Seoul citizens is housing.
This is an issue with which I, as Seoul mayor, struggle as well. As mayor, I have always thought about the housing problem and kept it close to my heart, as it affects the daily lives of so many citizens. Finding a conclusive answer to this problem would be a significant accomplishment and bring joy to many, including myself.
These days, Seoul citizens have been increasingly desperate and under greater pressure to find housing. If they were free of this burden, imagine how much more pleasant and productive their lives would be, and how much it would stimulate the growth of our society and economy. If we can eliminate this burden of housing, I believe that a new world, far different from anything we’ve imagined, will unfold before us.
There is no single way to solve to the housing problems of all ten million citizens of Seoul at once. However, I believe the urgency of the situation demands that we try anything and everything we can to find a resolution.
Therefore, today, we would like to suggest an answer to the housing issue. It involves people who can support Seoul and the means to support Seoul in this matter. It involves an innovative housing culture for Seoul citizens in their 20s and 30s, as well as for their parents in their 50s and 60s. I would like to introduce Seoul REITs.
