  • Seoul Closes Hangang Park Outdoor Swimming Pool This Summer Due to COVID-19

  • Culture & Tourism news SMG 780

Seoul Metropolitan Government (SMG) decided not to operate Hangang Park outdoor swimming pool and water parks this year due to the nationwide respreads of COVID-19. The facilities that will be prohibited are: three swimming pools in Ttukseom, Gwangnaru and Yeouido, and two water parks in Nanji and Yanghwa.
※ Swimming pools in Jamsil, Jamwon and Mangwon are excluded from this year’s operations due to plans for construction.
The above decision has been made considering the nonstop nationwide spread of COVID-19 as of mid-July and the concerns of mass infections due to limitation of complying with the preventive measures at the mentioned facilities.
Meanwhile, SMG is opening the facilities in Hangang Park that were closed from May 29, such as J-Bug (Jabeolrae), Seoul Battleship Park, Gwangjingyo 8th Avenue, and Bamseom Ecological Experience Center, starting from July 22.
