  • Hanyangdoseong, or the Seoul City Wall, covers not only the fortress that surrounded the old downtown area of Seoul, but the entire capital area surrounded by the fortress. Even today, Seoul City Wall blends well with the skyscrapers of the city and has become the symbol of Seoul. The Hanyangdoseong Trail is divided into four courses: Bugaksan, Naksan, Namsan, and Inwangsan. Among these four courses, Course 3, the selection along Namsan Mountain, starts at Gwanghuimun Gate, passes Jangchungdan Park and Namsan Park, and finishes at Sungnyemun Gate. The Namsan Course allows visitors to view cultural relics from Korea’s history and look around the famous tour sites of Seoul, thereby providing an opportunity to reflect upon the past and present of the city. Moreover, journeying across Namsan Mountain, Seoul’s most representative mountain, allows for leisurely trekking while reveling in nature.
