Next Monday, the city of Seoul will be hosting a major conference on the future of urban planning.
This is the General Assembly of the World Smart Sustainable Cities Organization.
Known as “WeGO” for short, it’s the organization’s tenth anniversary and the fifth edition of the conference.
WeGO was set up to promote global cooperation on so-called smart cities.
The theme this year is “New Normal with Smart Sustainable Solutions for All,” and taking part will be some 1-hundred 50 experts from 50 different cities around the world.
According to Seoul, Mayor Oh Se-hoon said the South Korean capital will lead the way in narrowing the digital gaps between cities and improving their quality of life.
The event had been scheduled for last year but was postponed due to the pandemic.
It will be held, both online and in-person, at Dongdaemun Design Plaza.
