The Seoul Metropolitan Government will build an extra 266 libraries across the capital by 2025 to help citizens get easier access to information.
In particular, the city says it’s focusing on five new municipal libraries, which will serve as regional branches of the Seoul Metropolitan Library.
Once complete, Seoul will be home to around 1,400 libraries raising the number of library books per citizen to 2.4 from last year’s 1.4.
Officials added the expansion plan will mean all Seoul residents will live within ten minutes’ walk from a public library.
