Seoseoul Lake Park is an eco-friendly park that opened in October 2009. It came to existence after being remodeled from the old Sinwol Water Purification Plant located in Sinwol-dong, Yangcheon-gu through the park establishment project under the themes “water” and “restoration.” The area was originally established as Gimpo Water Purification Plant in 1959 and was refurbished into a rest area for citizens after 50 years, reopening as a park. Neunggolsan Mountain, which forms the border of Bucheon-si, a restored thick forest, and a re-organized hiking trail were incorporated into the park, making Seoseoul Lake Park the largest nature-themed park in the southwestern part of Seoul.
