  • Royal Culture Festival

  • The Royal Culture Festival is a rare opportunity to enjoy cultural events at ancient palaces and Jongmyo Shrine which are many centuries old. Events are held over ten days between April and May of each year. It commences with an opening ceremony with various events taking place at the following five locations: Gyeongbokgung Palace, Changdeokgung Palace, Changgyeonggung Palace, Deoksugung Palace and Jongmyo Shrine. Events are set to include reenactment of ceremonies such as the ‘Coronation of the Emperor of the Korean Empire’ and ‘King Yeongjo and Changgyeonggung Palace’ based on the characters and historical background of each venue. There will also be performances, exhibitions, interactive programs, and ceremonies.
