    Visitors can explore the palaces of today at the 5th Royal Culture Festival being hosted in Seoul for nine days, from April 27 to May 5, 2019. The festival will introduce Gyeongbokgung Palace, the royal palace that encompasses the founding ideologies of the Joseon dynasty, Changdeokgung Palace, the oldest palace that was most beloved by kings of the past, Deoksugung Palace, the palace at which the Korean Empire was declared in 1897, and Jongmyo Shrine, the sanctuary that houses the ancestral tablets of countless kings and queens and the shrine at which sacrifices were made. The festival will also hold exhibitions, experiences, performances, music, and various programs through which visitors can experience the culture and history of Seoul’s palaces.
