    # Seoul was the starting place and the center of the March First Independence Movement. The shout “Manse” (“Long live Korean independence”) started from Insa-dong and reached Jonggak through Tapgol Park, resonating throughout the whole city. The shout passes by the Deoksugung Palace, Seoul Station and the Changdeokgung Palace, and soon spread out nationwide to a total of eight provinces and further out to multiple overseas nations. Seoul was a city of “Manse” on that day. The streets and alleys of Seoul were full of “Manse.” People of Seoul were one huge “Manse people.”
