In October 2014, 26 brand experts, including businessmen from private corporations, professors, and researchers, gathered together with the purpose of developing the brand of Seoul City. In an attempt to transform Seoul into the city that citizens truly want it to be, these experts held intense, in-depth discussions at various locations and times and on a frequent basis.
Through an open competition held in November 2014, Seoul citizens rolled up their sleeves to develop the Seoul City brand. Seoul Brand Citizen Ambassadors are comprised of 245 members, including a high school student and a 70-something senior citizen. The many valuable opinions gathered through the series of meetings have been reflected in the development of the brand of Seoul City.
“What do citizens think about Seoul?”– It is essential to discover and establish the identity of Seoul in order to develop its brand further.
“Our Seoul Story” is a citizen talk series that gives citizens and experts opportunities to speak about the nature, history, and people of Seoul. After inviting more than 1,000 citizens to a total of 11 sessions, held from February to May 2015, a wide variety of themes, through which Seoul’s identity can be discovered, were introduced.

Seoul’s identity, as discovered through the “Our Seoul Story” series, has been established firmly and systematically through three town hall meetings, held from February to June 2015.
A variety of global citizens, including Seoul Face Ambassadors, foreigners, and multicultural families, participated in the in-depth discussions, and the wide range of tangible and intangible results generated through the meetings went into the creation of the Seoul City brand.
