1. Devise the future Seoul Metropolitan Government plan anchored in the basics

  • Implement village plans with the full reflection of residents’ opinions from planning to execution

2. Regenerate the city by utilizing and preserving existing assets

  • Activate small-unit tailored remodeling with the adoption of urban characteristics
  • Prepare a comprehensive land management plan in preparation for future demand and citizen convenience
  • Relocation sites for public agencies, large-scale private sites, and underused public land

3. Manage residential areas with the adoption of regional characteristics and the focus on people

1. Create a transportation environment centered on convenience

  • Children’s play space: Amazon -Designate private schools, parks and areas frequented by children as protected areas ⇒Lower the child traffic accident rate by 33%
  • Exclusive public transport zones where people and public transport vehicles take center stage 
    -Decrease roadways, expand walkway spaces, and revitalize them as cultural spaces

1. Reduce energy consumption and increase energy production capacity to decrease one nuclear power plant

  • Rationalize building energy: 11,000 buildings by 2014
  • Expand use of high-efficiency LED lighting: Public sector – 50%, private sector 25% by 2014

  • Save energy in the transport sector: Operate exclusive center lanes for buses, and spread use of eco-friendly light cars

2. Produce new renewable energy through citizen participation
