Free iron supplement
  • Target: Women who are at least five months pregnant
  • Contents: Provides pregnant women with enough iron supplements to last until delivery ※ For those who suffer from anemia, provided beginning in fourth month.
Support for Medical Operation Cost for Infertile Couples
  • Target: Legally married infertile couples (wife’s age is below 44, monthly income is less than 150 percent of the national average monthly household income)
  • Content: Provides support of up to KRW 1.8 million per operation for a maximum of four times (KRW 1 million won over four sessions) (Including IVF [In Vitro Fertilization])
Saturday Consultation for Working Pregnant Women
  • Target: pregnant working women
  • Content: Free prenatal checkups and vaccinations on every fourth Saturday, 09:00-13:00 ※ Operated by 25 community health centers since March 2008
Prenatal/Postnatal Health Care
  • Target: Pregnant women
  • Content: Prenatal/Postnatal care, such as health examinations (Anemia, Syphilis, Hepatitis B Antibody Checkup), congenital malformation checkup, health education ※ Operated by 25 community health centers since March, 2008

Delivery Support

Helper Service for Pregnant Women and Newborn Babies
  • Target: Family whose income is less than 50 percent of the national average monthly household income. Applications are accepted at all local the community health center
  • Period of support: two weeks (12 days)
  • Serviced content: Health care (meals for pregnant women, breast-feeding guidance, baths for newborn baby, etc.) for pregnant women and newborn babies.
Medical Expense Support for Premature Babies and Children with Congenital Abnormalities
  • Target: Babies who are under 2.5 kg at birth, premature child delivered within 37 weeks, or children with congenital abnormalities
  • Content: Provides medical/operation expenses (minimum KRW 5-10 million) to families whose income is  less than 50percent of the average monthly income of urban workers. ※ Free support for families regardless of their income level if third (or more) baby is premature or abnormal
Screening for congenital metabolic disorders and child patient care Support
  • Target: All newborn babies
  • Content : six free tests on congenital metabolic disorders ※ If the child’s family has an income level that is below 20 percent of the average monthly income of urban workers, a special powdered milk formula and medical expenses will be provided. 
Infant & Child Medical Checkup
  • Target:  Infants and children under the age of six
  • Content : six free medical checkups
  • Check-up age : 4 months, 9 months, 2-5 years old
  • Check-up content : Medical consultation, anthropometry, development evaluation and consultation, dental inspections, health education (how to prevent accidents; information on nutrition and sleep; dental inspections; advice on preparing for preschool, etc.) ※ If the child’s family has an income level that is below 20 percent of the average monthly income of urban workers, a special powdered milk formula and medical expenses will be provided.  
Nutrition Plus Project for Pregnant Women
  • Target: Pregnant women whose (family) income is less than 20 percent of the minimum cost of living
  • Content: Nutrition medical therapy, nutrition evaluation and education, consultation for high risk patients. Six food packages per recipient (valued at approximately KRW 62,000, delivered 1-2 times a month) and a home visitation diet consultation service

Issuance of Happiness Card for families with many children
  • Target: Families with at least three children (Only when
    the last child is under 13 years old)
  • Where to Get Your Card: Online (http://i.seoul.go.kr), Woori Bank branches nationwide, community centers
  • Happiness Card Benefits : Bonus points and discount when using the service of partner companies for childbirth and childcare products, private institutes, dining out, and shopping at large convenience marts / 30~50%  discount at public parking lots in Seoul, 30~50% discount at Hangang River Citizens’ Park, 30% discount on admission fee for Seoul Grand Park, etc. / Credit card benefit, such as 10% discount on public transportation fee and discount at GS Caltex (KRW 50~70 discount per liter (depends on the number of children)

Exemption on the Vehicle Purchase Tax
  • Target: Families with at least three children who are under the age of 18 (includes adopted children)
  • Contents: 100% tax exemption on the purchase of a car to be used for raising children (7 – 10 seats) ※ Reduction of KRW 1.4 million on the purchase tax for a car that has less than 6 seats

Seoul Designated Nursery School Certification System
  • Certify private nursery facilities that meet certain standards and conditions for being Seoul-designated nursery schools and improve their child care services by implementing public standard support systems

Part-Time Care Service

Full Daycare Service
  • Target: Working parents raising infants between 3-12 months old
  • Project Implementation: Organizations that provide childcare services in 25 districts
  • Fee: KRW 1 million when used for more than 200 hours a month
  • Service: Dispatch childcare givers to user families, provide childcare supplies (baby food, diapers, etc.)
