The theme of this year’s Seoul Light is “Seoul Haemong II,” which is showcased as an interpretation of the dreams of Seoul, has been prepared to shed a “light of hope” for citizens fatigued by COVID-19. Images corresponding to spring will be expressed on the DDP facade through media art to send a hopeful message to citizens.
World-famous visual artist Refik Anadol participated in the creation of the work as director and artist. Having directed Dream, a media facade using the outer wall of the Walt Disney Concert Hall, he worked as the director of Seoul Light in 2019 and 2020 to display a world-class media facade.
Seoul Light 2021: Seoul Haemong II will be operated in accordance with the national regulations on disease control and prevention for COVID-19. Visitors are encouraged to make a reservation on the DDP website (www.ddp.or.kr) for safe viewing and preventing the spread of COVID-19.
Along with Seoul Light, visitors can also experience the new and special Light Space, a permanent exhibition hall dedicated to media art that showcase all works of Seoul Light media art since 2019.
