  • “New Year’s Festival in Unhyeongung”, Feb.5-Feb.9

    From February 5 to February 9, “New Year’s Festival in Unhyeongung” will be held in the Unhyeongung Palace, a former Korean royal residence located at 114-10 Unni-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul, Korea. The palace was also formerly the residence of Emperor Gojong, the 26th ruler of Korea during the Joseon Dynasty in the 19th century, as well as Prince Regent Daewon-gun. “New Year’s Festival in Unhyeongung” will celebrate New Year’s day (known in Korean as “Seollal”), which is the most special occasion for Korean people. The celebration will also be a time to pray for the well-being of all citizens and visitors throughout the year.

    The festival will include ▲ Performances with a variety of traditional Korean arts, ▲ “Lucky year 2016,” where people wish each other good luck for the New Year and ▲ Experience, where people can experience Korean traditional culture and make traditional crafts.
