At the base of Namsan Tower, thousands of couples have fixed their “love locks” to various railings around the viewing platforms and have thrown away the key in hopes that their love will be an everlasting, unbreakable love. A popular thing to do at dozens of famous landmarks, Namsan Tower definitely takes the cake as Seoul’s premier destination for this romantic gesture. As one of Seoul’s top tourist landmarks, tens of thousands of visitors flock to the sight, either by walking up the many trails, taking a bus or even taking the scenic way by cable car.
How to get there:
From Chungmuro Station (lines 3 and 4), exit 2. You can take the yellow bus #2. It will take you right up to the base of the tower.
To find the cable car, you must get out of Myeongdong Station (line 4), exit 3. It’s a 10 minute walk from the station.
By foot, there are dozens of walking trails from all sides of the mountain. A popular walking trail starting at the Grand Hyatt near Itaewon, will give you a great workout and beautiful views from start to end.
