The Seoul Metropolitan Government (SMG) has designated a total of 10,968 medical institutions, including hospitals, clinics and pharmacies, to operate during Chuseok from Sat, Sep. 18 to Wed, Sep. 22 for citizens’ access to medical services and treatment in case of emergency. The SMG is also operating COVID-19 screening clinics at public health centers in 25 districts for continuous testing.

During Chuseok, 66 emergency medical institutions and general hospital emergency rooms in Seoul will operate around the clock as usual. Citizens will have access to emergency medical institutions ranging from 30 regional and local emergency medical centers, including Seoul National University Hospital, and 19 regional emergency medical institutions, including Seoul Metropolitan Dongbu Hospital, and 17 general hospital emergency rooms, including Daehan Medical Center.

Seoul citizens will also have access to emergency medical services for primary treatment during Chuseok at 4,204 hospitals and clinics in addition to the aforementioned emergency medical institutions. The SMG also plans to designate 6,698 pharmacies in the vicinity of the aforementioned applicable hospitals and clinics to operate alongside during Chuseok.

Moreover, citizens will be able to easily purchase general over-the-counter drugs and medical supplies (13 items of 4 types, including digestive medicine, antipyretic analgesics, cold medicine, pain relief patches) at 7,126 designated stores, such as convenience stores, which can be checked via the SMG website.

The SMG will continue its efforts to prevent the spread of COVID-19 by operating screening clinics at public health centers in 25 districts from 9 AM to 6 PM during Chuseok for continuous testing.
