Dog’s Tooth Violet
[Mayor Park Won Soon’s Hope Journal 451]

A friend from Yeosu sent me this photograph.
The flower in the picture is called a “dog’s tooth violet.”

He also included a note saying, “A dog’s tooth violet waits seven years in the ground until it blooms forth, showing off its beauty and fragrance. Maybe that’s why its stamen looks like a woman’s eyelashes after a makeover.”

The dogs’ tooth violet began to bloom in mountains and valleys all over Nam-do last week. Here’s the picture of the dog’s tooth violet, and I wish you a happy spring!
