Much like a student waiting for the result of an exam, I felt fretful on the first day of subscription for the 100 billion won worth of citizens’ fund offered by Seoul Metropolitan Government for the restructuring of Subway Line 9.
After lunch, I dropped by the bank that receives people’s subscriptions. I was happy to hear that Nos. 1 and 2 have been sold out in only two hours, and that they expected to see a similar result by the following day at the latest.
A clerk at the counter asked me whether I was interested in subscribing to the fund. I said, “I think I will have to give way to others. Please give me a ring tomorrow, if there are some left unsold by the end of tomorrow.” She responded, “I don’t think I’ll have to call you at this rate.”
We at Seoul Metropolitan Government will fully cooperate with the people and return the profit to them.
