The program that was launched for taking care of moms from less privileged households who are nursing and taking care of their newborns through visits on up to 25 occasions is welcomed by many people.
Seoul Metropolitan Government is dispatching experts to homes in three districts (Gangbuk-gu, Dongjak-gu, and Gangdong-gu) as part of the pilot program. These experts will be visiting the mothers who qualify for this program until their child reaches the age of 2.
Eligibility for the program: ▲ those from multicultural households, ▲ those from low-income households, ▲ those with babies born out of wedlock, ▲ nursing mothers who are younger than 23 years of age, ▲ those suffering from hypochondria or postpartum depression, and ▲ all nursing moms for whom 4 weeks have not passed since childbirth.
The services that are being provided to the said families include the provision of a manual for communication with the newborn babies and explanations about toys and games that will help with the babies’ mental and physical growth.
We at Seoul Metropolitan Geovernment are carrying out in-depth education in connection with the need to cope with problems such as domestic violence and mentally handicapped children, and we will develop more related services in cooperation with the relevant organizations. Sounds nice? Please have more babies.
