LibrariesForeign Cultural Centers

Led by National Library of Korea, the nation’s largest library, and National Assembly Library, many national, municipal and district-run libraries can be found in Seoul. Each district of the city has one or more libraries. Most of the material in Seoul libraries is in the Korean language, but foreign users can be guided io the foreign books section upon request.

    Located in Sechog-dong, this is Korea's largest library with 5.94 million volumes of literature.

National Assembly Library
  • Located next to the National Assembly Building in Yeouido, National Assembly Library plays a similar role as the Library of Congress in the United States, aiming to provide prompt and accurate information to lawmakers.

Namsan Library
  • The Namsan Public Library rests on Namsan (Mt.) in Yongsan. It houses a rich volume of resources. The library is equally famous for its scenic view of Hangang and the nation’s capital. The library is also popular for its picturesque surroundings in the spring and fall.
