    • – (Period) Mon, Oct. 18 – Sun, Oct. 31, 2021 (for two weeks)
    • – (Level) Level 4 (Seoul metropolitan area) & level 3 (non-metropolitan area) maintained

    Adjustment details

    • – (Private gatherings) Simplification of complicated social gathering criteria, and relaxed restrictions for vaccinated persons

    Non-metropolitan area

    • – (Before) Up to 99 persons (49 existing + 50 vaccinated) allowed for weddings with catering, and up to 199 persons (99 existing + 100 vaccinated) allowed for weddings without catering at levels 3 and 4 → (After) Up to 250 persons (49 existing + 201 vaccinated) allowed, regardless of catering

    (Religious facilities) Increased capacity of worshippers, centered around fully vaccinated persons, but small group gatherings, dining and overnight stays remain prohibited

    • – (Level 4) (Before) 10% of capacity + up to 99 persons allowed → (After) Maximum 99 persons limit lifted, up to 10% of capacity allowed, or up to 20% if all persons are fully vaccinated (level 3 criteria)
      • * Example: (Before) Up to 99 persons allowed for churches with a 5,000 person capacity regardless of vaccination status → (After) Up to 1,000 persons (20%), if all persons are fully vaccinated, and up to 500 persons (10%) if non-vaccinated persons are present
    • – (Level 3) (Before) Up to 20% of capacity allowed → (After) 20% of capacity, or 30% of capacity allowed if all persons are fully vaccinated (level 2 criteria)

    (Other)

    • – (Accommodations) Room restrictions lifted at levels 3 and 4 (3/4 at level 3, and 2/3 at level 4)
    • – (Indoor/outdoor sports facilities) Shower restrictions lifted at level 3

    Future social distancing adjustments

    In preparation for a gradual return back to normal starting in November, detailed plans will be established and social discussions will be stimulated.
