The Jongno-gu Office in Seoul organizes the Jongno Hanbok Festival every year to promote the beauty and superiority of the hanbok while encouraging it to be adopted as everyday attire. This year marked its third annual celebration, taking place over the course of two days on September 21 and 22, at Gwanghwamun Square. The festival included diverse cultural events, featuring Ganggangsullae, the traditional Korean folk dance that helps bring in a good harvest while praying for peace and love, street art performances, a hanbok music concert, a hanbok fitting contest, and the hanbok fashion show, to reward city residents and tourists alike with an enjoyable Chuseok holiday season. Additionally, the festival location also offered numerous hands-on activities that included lessons on the proper wearing of a hanbok and the opening of a traditional market.
