The Jeongwol Daeboreum Festival is held every year on the lunar January 15 at Namsangol Hanok Village. The Jeongwol Daeboreum event held on March 2, 2018, featured various programs including traditional cultural experiences, wish writing, special exhibition of the Namsangol Lantern Village, and tasting of ogok bap, the traditional steamed five-grain rice eaten on the 15th day of the New Year according to the lunar calendar, also known as Jeongwol Daeboreum. From 5:00 pm, community dance performances with citizens were held, starting with the Bukcheong sajanoreum (dancing with a lion mask) and ending with Daljip taeugi (sheaf burning) to repel the year’s misfortune and wish for health and happiness.
