Ichon Hangang Park is located on the north side of Hangang River between Jungnangcheongyo Bridge and Wonhyodaegyo Bridge. Its riverside esplanade is known for its tall reeds and silvergrass as well as cosmos flowers that bloom in season, and is frequented by casual pedestrians and joggers alike. Hangang Art Park was created in Ichon and Yeouido in 2018 to showcase the various meanings and values of the Hangang River under the theme “Hangang River_Stop and Flow with Art”. The artworks exhibited at Hangang Art Park are the creations of citizens’ imagination and participation, and the characteristics of the newly created Hangang Art Park stand out even more due to young artists’ participation. Visitors are encouraged to spend time leisurely at the park and explore each installation artwork in each section of the park that encapsulates the various traits of the Hangang River, such as “vigorous,” “free-spirited,” “ecstatic,” and “secretive.”
