Foreign Press and Social Influencers Introduce Seoul’s Appeal to the World

Seoul will arrange opportunities for influential journalists, who maintained the public’s trust, and social influencers that demonstrate powerful leverage online, to experience the multitudinous of Seoul for themselves.

As many as 20 eminent journalists and social influencers from China, Hong Kong, Japan, Russia, England, France, India, and Brazil will partake in the Seoul Tour Program over the course of five days from October 22-26, 2018.

  • A total of 14 journalists from 11 countries and 13 media outlets, including the travel channel of China’s largest video platform, iQIYI, China’s largest daily economic newspaper, The Economic Daily, Taiwan’s top-ranking daily paper, The UDN, Japan’s largest news portal website, Yahoo! Japan, India’s The Statesman, Malaysia’s largest daily paper, The Star, Thailand’s influential daily paper, Bangkok Post, and Russia’s state-operated, RIA Vladnews, are all scheduled to participate
  • A total of six social influencers from Australia, Canada, France, Japan, Hong Kong, and Singapore are also expected, all of whom are currently active as on-site photographers, contents creators, and power bloggers.

The press will tour urban regenerative locations, such as the Seoul Startup Hub, Sewoon Again, and Mapo Oil Reservoir Culture Park, that provided the dynamic needed in taking home the 2018 Lee Kuan Yew World City Prize while offering in-depth interviews on the scene. Influencers, for whom photos, videos and images of Seoul are key elements in their fields, will get a chance to experience K-pop, food, and traditional Korean culture amid other attributes, that are sure to reinvigorate their creative senses.

Seoul plans to offer impactful, worldwide journalists and influencers the opportunity to experience Seoul’s appeal through the Seoul Tour Program.

The tour locations and schedules were drawn up to reflect the interests of the invited guests through a feasibility study. Journalists will cover governmental policies while social influencers will set out to experience Korean culture and visit noted attractions, which is anticipated to effectively introduce the individuality, appeal, and superior urban policy of Seoul to the world.
