  • Seoul Metropolitan Government announced that the works to be supported under the Program for the Protection of Disappearing Traditional Culture 2013 will be displayed at the Traditional Handicrafts Hall in Namsangol Hanok Village until November 11.

Summary Title of Exhibit: Exhibit of Works to be supported under the Program for the Protection of Disappearing Traditional Culture 2013
Exhibition Period: Until November 11 (closed on Tuesdays)
Daily Exhibit Hours: 9:00 AM ~ 10:00 PM
Place of Exhibit: Traditional Handicrafts Hall in Namsangol Hanok Village

This exhibit is designed to enhance people’s interest in the country’s traditional cultural items and share their value with visitors. At the same time, it encourages the people engaging in the inheritance and preservation of traditional items, which are gradually disappearing from our daily lives.

The exhibit displays 50-plus items in the 17 sectors to be supported in 2013. Visitors will have the opportunity to experience the chic and artistic touches of Koreans’ ancestors in the objects made with traditional handicraft skills, such as cloisonné handicrafts, accessories for hand-held fans, colored lacquerware, embroidered insignia on the front and back of official robes, royal seal, etc.

This year marks the 18th year that Seoul City partially subsidizes the expenses required to maintain the country’s traditional culture based on artists’ request.
