The name Marché@ comes from the French word, “Marché,’ which means, “Marketplace, market,” with the preposition, “At (@),” added to the end, indicating a market that can open anywhere. Marché@ first opened in October 2012 at Artist House at Daehak-ro under the theme, “Market with people, relationships, and conversation.” Today, the farmers’ market opens on the second Sunday of every month. The farmers’ market has opened regularly at the same venue for a long time, and it is a representative market typically visited by customers shopping for groceries and the younger generation who like to enjoy a new market culture. Small vegetable shops also open periodically to offer customers the joy of communicating with farmers and rediscovering the delight in shopping for ingredients and cooking food.
