Restored in 2005 after having previously been paved over, Cheonggyecheon is an 11km long slice of nature to enjoy while in downtown Seoul. On either side of the stream are trees and plants as well as walkways. Along the stream you can see various artworks and cultural mosaics as well as enjoying the view from the 22 bridges that cross the stream along it’s path. On either side of the stream you can see skyscrapers and enjoy getting some food or drink from cafés and restaurants that line the route. Popular with local residents Cheonggyecheon often has buskers adding to a lively vibe, especially in early evening as the sun sets and people relax with friends beside the stream.
