Buam-dong sits between Bukhansan Mountain and Inwangsan Mountain in Seoul, Korea. Located near the city but occupied by streams and forests, Buam-dong has been famous for its scenic beauty since people can spot the mountains from anywhere in the area since the Joseon Dynasty era. Buam-dong is also where both nature and culture are experienced, boasting the filming location for the drama “Coffee Prince” and Baeksasil Valley. In this natural, ecological area, cultural history and the natural environment exist in pleasing harmony. The neighborhood is also home to Seoul’s first public Hanok library, the Cheongun Public Literature Library, Hill of Poet Yundongju, where a stone engraved with the poet’s writing stands. And Changuimun Gate, one of the only remaining Four Lesser Gates constructed during the Joseon period, made it a suitable place to take a one-day tour.
