How about refreshing your heat-worn exhausted mind and body at the “Seoul Bamdokkaebi Night Market” held every Friday and Saturday at Yeouido Hangang Park, Banpo Hangang Park, Dongdaemun Design Plaza (DDP), and Cheonggyecheon Stream? This year, you can enjoy an exclusive viewing of Hangang (or Han River) night view from a rooftop, and group seating is available at KRW 1,000 (about 0.9 cents) per person without any time limit. This year’s night markets are filled with special events and programs.

Soak in a night view of the Hangang from a rooftop @Yeouido & @Banpo

Starting on August 4, the Hangang Information Center @Yeouido and @Banpo will transform into a rooftop. Submit a personal story and choose a preferred time on Bamdokkaebi Night Market’s official Facebook page (www.facebook.com/bamdokkaebi). After the submissions are reviewed, a team will be selected for time slots (7pm, 8pm & 9pm) and matched with a location. The selected teams will have an opportunity to enjoy the Hangang night view on the rooftop up to 50 minutes. Each team should include minimum 2 people and maximum 8 people. Submissions will be accepted a week before the event (Thursday) until Tuesday of the event week.

Seoul Bamdokkaebi Night Market @Banpo offers a group seating for people searching for a unique gathering site. A group seating is available without a time limit for KRW 1,000 per person. Reservations should be made through the official Facebook page, and a canopy tent and a table will be provided. Reservations will begin a week before the event (Thursday) and two teams based on the order of registration will be selected. Each team should include minimum 8 people and maximum 15 people. If it is a company meeting, a specialized exclusive gift card can be pre-purchased for use.

Foodtruck Express Pass and Delivery Service

Seoul Bamdokkaebi Night Market @Yeouido and @Banpo offers an “Express Pass” event where you can order food without standing in line. You can order from any food truck once using this pass. The pass is provided to the first selected five teams based on the theme of the week such as birthdays, dress code, and military personnel on leave. The theme will be revealed on site spontaneously.

Seoul Bamdokkaebi Night Market @DDP will be the first among the four night markets to provide “Yeogiyo (Here)! Delivery Service” which you can make a scheduled delivery. It is offered on the third week of every month with up to 30 different menu items. Reservations can be made on site at DDP Plaza between 4pm to 5:30pm to select a delivery time.

In addition, Seoul Bamdokkaebi Night Market @Cheonggyecheon offers a “Sky Lantern Parade” every Saturday at 7:30pm and 8:30pm where you can stroll the Cheonggyecheon Stream holding your sky lantern. Also, other interesting programs such as “Wish Letter” event and “Dokkaebi Bottile Flip” will be offered throughout the night market’s opening hours.

Seoul Bamdokkaebi Night Market is the largest night market organized by the Seoul Metropolitan Government. This year, it will run until October 29, on every Friday and Saturday at Yeouido Hangang Park, Banpo Hangang Park, DDP, Cheonggyecheon Stream, and Cheonggye Plaza (with the exception of the Cheonggyecheon area which is held on Saturdays and Sundays). The night market offers a wide array of entertainment such as food trucks, busking performances, and various handmade products. “Bamdokkaebi” means “night gabin” in Korean. This was named because the market opens at night and disappears by morning.
