The Baek In-je House, located in Gahoe-dong of Bukchon Hanok Village, is a hanok of modern times that has been perfectly preserved. This house that overlooks the whole of Bukchon Hanok Village consists of a spacious Anchae and wide gardens with the Sarangchae at its center. It also features a small Byeoldangchae on the most elevated part of its land. This Seoul Folk Cultural Heritage No. 22 represents Bukchon Hanok Village in terms of architectural scale and historical value: it maintains the beauty of the traditional hanok while also reflecting the modern trends of its era. The “Baek In-je House Night Operation” is a special summer event organized every July and August since 2017 during which visitors can enjoy the night views of the hanok. During this time, visitors can enjoy Baek In-je House’s enchanting atmosphere while walking around the buildings freely, without a set course.
