    Seoul Metropolitan Government is considering ways to use Nodeulsom more usefully. In light of this, we at Seoul Metropolitan Government are holding the 2nd Annual Photo Contest about the island to bring more attention to it. Please take part in the event.

    <Details about the photo contest>

    1.  Event name: The 2nd Annual Photo Contest about Nodeulseom, Spring in Nodeulseom

    2.  Eligibility: Anyone can participate on an individual basis 

    3.  Photos to be submitted: Those containing scenes of spring on Nodeulseom Island 

    4.  Submittal period

    • Submittal period: From April 9, 2014 through May 18, 2014 (41 days)
    • Internal screening: From May 19, 2014 through May 26, 2014
    • Online announcement of those that passed the internal screening and popularity vote: From May 27, 2014 through June 18, 2014 
    • Announcement of honorable mention photos: By the end of June 2014 (both on our homepage and individually)
      ※ The foregoing schedule is subject to change. (Information on changes to the schedule will be announced on our homepage.)

    5.  What should be submitted: Online application and photos  

    • One person may submit up to five photos. (A simple explanation about the photos may be added if necessary.)
    About the photos

    • File size: Not less than 1MB, but not more than 10MB per photo
    • File format: picture files, such as jpeg or gif

    6.  Please submit to:

    • Register on our homepage (www.seoul.go.kr/pdc_idea).

    7.  Screening

    • Selection of honorable mention photos and prizes
         Ten photos will be selected based on online votes.
    • Prize: A gift certificate for cultural activities worth 100,000 won per photo
    Similar photo contests will be held on a total of four occasions in 2014 on different subjects and the top prize-winning photos will be selected toward the end of the year.

    • A separate screening committee will be composed. Will be composed of what?
    • Criteria for the selection of top prize-winning photos: to be determined by the said committee
    • Platinum Prize (1); Gold Prize (2); Silver Prize (3); Bronze Prize (5)
           Award certificates, prize money, and a Nodeulseom Island Photo Album will be presented to all of the prizewinners (except for honorable mention winners.)

    8.  Notes

    • Works not falling under the aforementioned category in terms of the subject or size will be automatically disqualified.
    • All rights concerning the photos submitted, including intellectual property rights (e.g., the right for drawing up too literal? for drawing up what? or using secondary source using what as a secondary source?), will revert to Seoul City.  
    • No works submitted will be returned. We will not pay for any production expenses.
    • Works that have received a prize elsewhere will not be accepted. Concerning photos that are found to violate what has been stated in the previous sentence, we will withdraw the prizes presented, along with other benefits.
    • All responsibilities for portrait rights or disputes over copyrights concerning the photos submitted shall lie with the applicants.
    • We reserve the right to use the photos submitted for printing, exhibition, publicizing, education, and press releases.
    • We will not use the personal information contained in the application for any other purpose than for identification and awarding prizes to winners.
